Faced with such a great opportunity, not only domestic enterprises,but also the foreign giants focus to the Chinese market, which shows the importance of the Chinese market.However, it is still difficult for domestic enterprises to attack the foreign giants to stand.At present,the domestic LED industry is still focused on the package and downstream link applications,but weak in the areas of the upper reaches of the epitaxial wafers and chip.Because of patents of the wafer, chip, packaging,multinational giants such as the U.S. SemiLEDs Corporation, the Netherlands Lemnis companies are building a large patent pool, thereby threatening the long-term development of China's LED industry.Monopoly of upstream also makes cost of LED lighting high in the domestic, it is difficult for the general public to accept the high price which is not good to market penetration, the current LED market has a share of about 10%,it still need some time to make LED popular, the LED is expected to reach 25% in 2015.
According to industry analysis, China's LED industry almost stands the same starting line with developed countries, which gives domestic enterprises the opportunity to participate in global competition,most companies without core technology will become "assembly plant" for downstream.At the same time the industry also called for the LED industry standards as soon as possible to regulate the market.
