According to the latest data released by U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA),sales of global chip reached $ 24.7 billion in June this year.Compared with $ 25 billion in May, it was down 1.2%, but it fell 0.4 percent to the same month last year.In addition, the Association released data to show that in the second quarter, sales of global chip decreased 2% of the chain, but the sales of global chip the first half of this year increased 3.7% than the first half of last year which created a record increase. The association expects the sales of global chip are still expected to achieve 5.4 percent growth. The Association believes that, in June this year, the corporate upgrades PC ,demand for smart phones is increased, the increasing IT infrastructure investments and increased investment in the related market in China as well as other factors drive, the growth were offset by the global decline in consumer demand. The association said that for the year 2011, except Japan which is being recovered from earthquake and tsunami, the sales of global chip in all other markets are increased than the 2010. In addition, each industry has an increasing demand for chips,the most notably is the automotive industry.It is reported that the Semiconductor Industry Association is the largest semiconductor industry consortium in U.S., the Association's members include Intel, AMD, Texas Instruments and IBM. |
