Currently, Chinese resistors account for 85% of whole resistors,more and more manufacturers expand the production of chip resistors.It is expected in the next few years chip resistors will continue to lead the local Chinese resistor production. While mobile communications, computers and peripherals, digital consumer and automotive electronics have a great demand for chip resistors,domestic manufacturers are optimistic about such resistors, especially,portable electronic devices have a great demand of small resistors,so the small resistors have a bright future.
Chinese chip resistors have various kinds of sizes,0603 resistors of consumer electronics, IT and communications products is currently the main local Chinese resistors, miniaturization will bring bulk production of 0402 chip resistors with smaller sizes .Given this demand, manufacturers estimate 0603 and 0805,1206 and other large-size resistors will have lower demand in the coming months. 0402 resistors are appliated in the cell phone, MP3, MP4 players, digital cameras, digital video camcorders, portable GPS devices and laptop computers and other electronic products with increasing frequency. As mobile phone and digital devices are smaller and smaller, manufacturers believe 0402 chip resistors will be applicated in these electronic products.  
As the industry becomes mature, there is no major breakthrough for resistors, but the manufacturers still improve stability and performance of products.Product development focused on high-precision, high-frequency and low temperature coefficients, lead-free and miniaturization is also important tip for development.
