Freescale Semiconductor and Bosch Automotive Electronics Division create a reference platform for automotive airbags for emerging markets with its leading position in automotive electronics and systems expertise, such as India and China's growing car market segments.The new reference platform for airbag chipset uses Qorivva32-bit microcontroller (MCU) series  from and ASSP series of airbags from Bosch,combined sensors from the two companies. Airbag Freescale reference platform demonstrates how Bosch CG147 ASSP series and QorivvaMPC560xPMCU series airbags work, which Freescale QorivvaMPC560xPMCU series is for security applications, scalable MCU, ASSP series airbag Bosch CG147 is a combination of power, ignition circuit, sensor interface and security controller in an integrated airbag system IC.
Freescale's senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer, HenriRichard said, "With this new reference platform, Bosch and Freescale enable local suppliers to adopt good airbag solutions that can help them accelerate time to market, reduce design risk,and the solution is easy to use, afford, and provide the highest automotive quality standards.
