According to latest report from market research firm Strategy Analytics ,the semiconductor component used in electric vehicles (electric vehicles, EVs),the revenue will grow four times between 2011 and 2018, reaching 20 billion U.S. dollars.The reports from Strategy Analytics points out that, for electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles (HEV), 92% of the chip are analog IC;it is estimated that between 2011 to 2018, for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles applications, analog IC will be achieved 23% for compound annual growth rate (CAGR), compared with the standard vehicle during the simulation with predictive value at a CAGR of 7.2%,it is much higher.Strategy Analytics estimates that as to electric vehicles / hybrid vehicles of the power semiconductor components in control applications, power and non-power analog components account 78% and 14%; which AC main drive motor inverter (traction motorin verters ) required for high-power IGBT, continued to occupy the largest share of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles with power analog IC ."Digital logic chips can be the brain of the electric car and hybrid vehicles, but the analog chips play the role of interface, the measurement, protection and power control  in the power systems of these vehicles, but also bring many new business opportunities for the analog chip suppliers.
