ST Microelectronics (STMicroelectronics, referred to as ST) developes man-machine interface device (HID) sensor solutions which can support Windows8 systems with Microsoft.
The cooperation between ST Microelectronics and Microsoft shows that ST Microelectronics has the ability to integrate multiple sensors, the processing and proprietary software within a single module, to provide users with total sensor solutions. ST's award-winning iNEMO sensor module is now in volume production, the solution integrated 3-axis digital gyro, 3 axis digital acceleration and proximity sensors, pressure sensors and STM32 microcontrollers.Microcontroller is used to run STMicroelectronics iNEMOEngine sensor fusion algorithms, through the intelligent interface controller (I2C) protocol to control human-machine interface equipment. The vice president and product manager in analog products, MEMS and sensors of STMicroelectronics, BenedettoVigna said: "The partnership with Microsoft makes our sensor platform to run on the Windows8 iNEMOEngine software, running the new Windows operating system for x86 and ARM processing on the ST with the HID plug and play sensor solutions through Microsoft's sensor-driven software stack and ST's sensor-controller firmware, device manufacturers do not need to develop drivers, the end-user can access to Windows8 sensor applications features such as built-in screen rotation Windows8 or indoor positioning capabilities, and built by iNEMO STM32 Microcontroller module power-saving features. "In terms of development Windows8 sensor Ecosystems and user experience,STMicroelectronics is one of Microsoft's key partners for the future of Microsoft's platform sensor technology standards. |
