Intel is reportedly developing the new processor specifically designed for tablet PC. This is a departure from Intel's original plan. Intel had planned to make the upcoming "Medfield" processor platform support both smart phones and tablet PCs. According to Taiwan's IT news reported on website Digi Times on Friday, Intel processors specifically for the Tablet PC will be launched in 2012. The executives of Intel expect the chip will be able to start with ARM chips in direct competition.The chips designed by ARM dominate including smart phones and tablet PCs and other mobile services, especially in the thermal design power and performance.According to what industry insider said, Intel will design power the heat down to 10 watts in the next two years for smart phones and tablet computer chip, while the pace of upgrading for the new chip will  upgrade from every two years to the annual upgrade.According to reports from Digi Times, that Intel will launch three new chipset in the next three years, 32-nanometer "Saltwell", 22-nm "Silvermont" and 14-nm "Airmont".Intel looks forward to actively enter the thriving market for mobile devices. Next year will be a critical year for Intel. Intel will take a variety of ways, not just for smart phones and tablet PCs Atom processor platform, but also for the Core Duo processor, the Tablet PC and super notebooks. Google will also cooperate with Intel around Intel's Atom platform to optimize Google's Android mobile operating system.Intel chips focused on Tablet PC will add a new weapon in Intel's competition in the mobile areas.
