According to reports from foreign media,the U.S. chip giant ,Intel announced on Tuesday that Intel's investment institution (IntelCapital) has established an amount of $ 100 million fund, the fund will be devoted to the relevant technology in the future start-up companies to invest to achieve the purpose of promotion of the Intel AppUp platform.On "Global Summit" (GlobalSummit) held by Intel on Tuesday in the year 2011, the company announced the news. The executive of Intel ,Rini James (ReneeJames) said the establishment of AppUp fund serves two purposes: First, to accelerate the promotion of a variety of equipment including Ultrabook, the second is that external developers can publish their the application on different platforms .Intel announced last year, has started called "AppUp" project to help external developers to more easily develop cross-platform applications.The executive of Intel ,PeterBiddle said on Tuesday, although the project is mainly to help developers to the Windows version of the application to the Linux platform, but such applications can also run on other platforms such as mobile devices, television and cars and so on. To enable the development of such applications easier, AppUp project emphasizes the use of HTML5 technology standards. Up to now, the use of external developers AppUp platform has reached 25,000.Biddle went on to say,with the use of AppUp platform, external developers can add their own application identity management, payment, and location services and other functions. AppUp Fund has invested two mobile platforms, UrbanAirship and Tablet PC operating system developers ,4tiitoo. For example,outside developers of Apple iOS platform can also apply for financial assistance from AppUp Fund. To consider Google has built Android application store,AppUp will not considerate to build another Android store.Intel said on Tuesday that, from 1991 to 2011, Intel Capital invested for a total of 1185 Technology Ventures, a total investment of 104 billion dollars.
