According to analysis report about power management from IHSiSuppli ,in 2010 all areas of power management semiconductor market experienced growth,the overall industry expanded to 310 billion U.S. dollars, and growths of voltage regulator transistors (specifictransistors) and a few other areas are even higher than 40%.Last year, the largest area of power management semiconductor market is the MOSFET for the conversion of electronic signals, accounting for 21%. Followed by the ASIC and application-specific standard products which are relevant with power management , accounting for 20%. Switching regulator is in third place, accounting for 16 percent,the linear regulator and insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)  account 10% each.Other areas of the market is power rectifier diodes, bipolar transistors, voltage reference devices, power management interface and a thyristor, its share was less than 10%. Overall power management semiconductor market is $ 31 billion, up 41% over the previous year. IGBT had obvious growth in 2010, jumped by 56 percent, from $ 1.9 billion in 2009 to 30 billion dollars. The increase was due to China improved infrastructure, developed solar and wind energy and other environmentally friendly energy sources, as well as hybrid and electric vehicles.Suppliers of power management semiconductors now try to make substantial adjustment,shift from the production and consumption to high-value-type semiconductor devices. By improving product mix, suppliers want to enhance the ability to adapt to the transfer of industrial economy and fluctuations in demand.However, IHS Company believes that this strategy must be carefully thought, especially since the high-value power management semiconductor market is much smaller than the consumer device market. In addition, because various manufacturers have adopted the same strategy, the market will become very crowded.
