According to reports from foreign media and market research firm IHS, revenue of the global processor from Intel sets a new record in third-quarter, which help it further widen of gap with AMD.IHS said that although Intel warned before revenue in the fourth-quarter may be lower than expected, but it is expected to continue to expand its leading in global semiconductor market in 2011. In third quarter revenue share of  Intel in the global processor rose to 83.7% from 80.9% in the same time of last year, contrast, AMD's market share dropped to 10.2% from 11.45%  in same period last year .The principal analyst of computer platforms from IHS,Matthew Wilkins said: "The increased sales of Media Tablet PC have an impact in upstream and downstream of Intel, which damages to the processor business of Intel netbook , but it promotes the sales growth of chip supporting for cloud computing data centers. " IHS said that Intel's growth was able to exceed the market average in third-quarter is because its product library is more comprehensive, not only covering the consumer market, but also covering the enterprise market. As consumers turn to media tablet, netbook demand has been declining, the Atom processor is greatly affected. Intel says revenue of Atom processor and chipset in third-quarter fell 32%.However, due to mobile and cloud computing markets promote growth in demand for processors used in the data center, Intel found that sales of this type of processor are very strong in recent quarters. IHS expects the expenditure of cloud computing for consumers and businesses will increase to $ 110 billion in 2015 from $ 23 billion in 2010.Earlier this month, Intel released the profit warning, said in fourth-quarter revenue target may be less than $ 1 billion, due to the shortage of hard disk caused by floods in Thailand ,it may have great impact on its core PC market.
