Therefore, the overall market declined to the lowest level since the global economic recession at the third quarter of 2009.IDC's data shows that Apple in the fourth quarter of 2011, sold 37 million iPhones, Apple's global handset market share reached 8.7 percent, more than double 4% in 2010 market. Apple's iPhone sales in 2011 was about 93 million,the market share increased by 6%, which grew 96 percent over 2010.The global mobile phone market continued to be dominated by Nokia and Samsung Electronics. Nokia's sales at fourth quarter was 113 million units, Samsung Electronics sold 97 million mobile phones. Samsung Electronics, the global handset market share is 20 percent, an increase of 21%. Nokia's global mobile phone market share is 30.7%, a decrease of 8.2%.
