Infineon Technologies AG has announced the annual financial data in fiscal year 2012 at first quarter ended on December 31, 2011.The revenue of Infineon at first quarter in fiscal year 2012 is 946 million euros, lower than the 1.038 billion euros in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011, it is mainly because the uncertain global economic situation led to customers to become more cautious.The total operating profit for the quarter is € 141 million, lower than € 195 million at last quarter. The operating margin for the quarter dropped to 14.9 percent from 18.8 percent in the last quarter, but basically as same as with the target of 15% of the Group. Total operating profit and operating margin decline is primarily due to lower sales. Operating expenses (especially R & D expenditures), slightly less than expected at last quarter, at this quarter's operating margin of the company is slightly higher than previously expected levels.The continuing operating income of Infineon for the quarter decreased by to 104 million euros from € 247 million in the last quarter . In addition to total operating profit fell ,after the 7,500 million euros including tax benefit at the last quarter,in this quarter the continuing operations income include tax expense of $ 2,000 million euros. During the quarter, the company's continuing operations Basic and diluted earnings per share decreased from the previous quarter's 0.23 euros and 0.22 euros to 0.10 euros.At this quarter shutting down business losses of Infineon substantially reduced to to 800 million euros from 122 million euros at fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year.At this quarter net income is 9,600 million euros, below 125 million euros of the last quarter. Basic and diluted earnings per share is 0.09 euros, while at the last quarter basic and diluted earnings per share is 0.12 euros and 0.11 euros.
