According to reports from foreign media, Intel has decided to exit the semiconductor industry's data collection organization ,Global Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association (WSTS). As the mainstay of the semiconductor industry, Intel's exit makes the industry doubt whether the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association can provide high-quality data or not.Before this, Intel's rival in the processor market ,AMD was out of the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association at the end of last year.The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association gathers information from the chip maker members, and then publish the data on chip shipments and revenue. These data can be editted and shared by members. Semiconductor Industry Association also applies to the data of the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association to publish a monthly report, a report released by the Semiconductor Industry Association is regarded as healthy indicator of the market by Wall Street .Some market analysts believe that Intel quits the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association may affect the accuracy of the Global Semiconductor Trade Statistics data.The CEO of VLSI Research,  Dan Hutchinson said, "without Intel, the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association statistics will become very weak."The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association has a different view for it. The manager of association,  Bernd Pavilion said that the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association has already adopted a series of techniques to predict the sales data of the non-member companies. He said that the AMD out of the Association did not have any impact, I believe that Intel's decision will have no significant implications for the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Association. He said, "We are still negotiating with Intel, I believe that no matter what happens, we have been able to continue to publish the report."
