After 15 months MEMS sensor shipments broke the one billion mark, STMicroelectronics' shipments of MEMS sensor topped the two billion mark again,this landmark event showed that STMicroelectronics MEMS sensors out volume is growing rapidly, the emergence of the great success in this dynamic market by STMicroelectronics.STMicroelectronics's MEMS sensors make smart phones, tablet PCs, personal media players, game consoles, digital cameras and remote control and other mainstream consumer electronics devices have motion control user interface to improve ease of use of these devices which is more attractive to consumer . STMicroelectronics' MEMS is also widely used in notebook hard drive for self-protection function of falling bodies, transplant equipment, medical equipment, automotive infotainment and navigation systems. In addition, STMicroelectronics work with customers to research and develope of automotive airbags, tire pressure monitoring vehicle sensors.
