According to the latest news, the world's largest computer memory manufacturer, South Korea's Samsung Electronics Corporation will invest $ 7,000,000,000 to build a semiconductor factory in China. Due to strong sales of mobile devices, led by Apple's iPhone smartphone and iPad tablet, demand of memory product for Samsung Electronics is also growing.Samsung Electronics said in the documents submitted to regulatory agencies on Tuesday that this factory will be built in Xi'an, an initial investment is $ 2.3 billion.According to the plan, the factory will start production of NAND flash memory chips from 2013. According to market research firm ,HIS,global demand for flash memory chips in the next five years will be significantly increased by 49%. Samsung Electronics said in its announcement, the Xi'an facility is the company's largest single foreign investment by far.The Analyst of Korea Investment & Securities Co., Seo Won Seok said in an interview with Bloomberg, the plant of such a scale is the largest in the industry,in terms of NAND flash memory, both China and South Korea will be important production bases.In December last year, Samsung Electronics has said that the reason why the company's semiconductor factory is located in China, because China is gradually becoming a key chip market.On the other hand, in September last year, Samsung Electronics opened a new factory with a total investment of 12 trillion won ($ 10.6 billion). The plant is able to produce NAND flash memory chips and DRAM products. In addition, Samsung has a factory in Austin, Texas, United States, its products includes memory chips and logic chips, logic chips has achieved full production from last October.
