Affected by the plan of the Government of India, many companies begin to plan the establishment of one or more buildings semiconductor fab in the Indian subcontinent. According to reports of India Business News (HinduBusinessLine),there are five companies at least to support the plan showing interest,including GlobalFoundries, Infineon, STMicroelectronics, SitronicsJSC and a corporate alliance from Russia, including its the JaypeeAssociates IBM and TowerSemiconductor. The report did not disclose the source of information. Sitronics is the parent company of Russia's leading IC manufacturer, MikronJSC.Company name of Tower Semiconductor is TowerJazz who had declared in February 2012 they were interested at India's 300mm wafer project, but have not yet announced the cooperation with Which alliance partners.India Business News reports TSMC and Freescale Semiconductor refused to opportunities for cooperation, but Intel could provide consulting support.The report quoted anonymous sources saying that Freescale and TSMC declined the offer, but Intel has provided consulting support in infrastructure construction and finance-related areas of semiconductor manufacturing. GlobalFoundries can offer 200mm wafer fabrication and proprietary processor IP technology (know-how). |
