U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced the latest survey on Tuesday, global semiconductor sales in April reduced compared with a year ago, but compared with March, showing the largest increase in nearly two years.Global semiconductor sales in April increased by 3.4 percent from $ 24.1 billion in the previous month, a new high record this year, and created the largest monthly increase since May 2010, the SIA said. However, compared with a year ago, it is still of a decrease 2.9%.Regional, in april moving average growth of semiconductor sales of the Americas within 3 months was 5.6%, Asia-Pacific region grew 5.4%, Europe grew by only 1.8%, Japan grew 1.8%. Compared with a year ago, sales of all regions had decline, dropped 14 percent in Europe to lead the declines, dragging down the performance of the industry as a whole.SIA's chief executive ,BrianToohey said, cautiously optimistic about the prospects for the global semiconductor industry ,has begun to moderate monthly increase positive trend,it is expected that this trend will continue.Toohey also believes that the revenue growth of global semiconductor industry is expected to begin to rise next year, but the whole atmosphere of industry is continued to be affected by the global economic instability. |
