Japanese electronics components maker, Oki Electric Industry (OKIElectric) issued a press release and announced that they will make acquisition the printed circuit board (PCB) cause belongs to Tanaka Precious Metal Industry (TanakaKikinzokuKogyoK.K.). The press release pointed out that Tanaka Precious Metal plans to migrate its PCB business to the new company which is estimated to be established in September of this year ,OKITANAKACircuit (hereinafter referred to as OTC), OKI and will obtain OTC80% stake from October 1 this year , officially acquiring Tanaka The precious metal PCB undertakings; As for the remaining 20% stake in OTC,it is held by Tanaka Precious Metal. OKI began production of PCB in 1965, and the multi-layer products with large size are widely praised by the market; Tanaka Precious Metal PCB industry started in 1970,mainly providing large size / multi-layer substrate to the aerospace industry. OKI pointed out that Japan PCB market continues to shrink every year,it is estimated there is still about 1,000 billion yen of market in the large size of the high-end products / multi-layer PCB. According to the Nikkei, after Oki’s acquisition of the cause of Tanaka Precious Metal PCB, the PCB’s annual capacity (conversion to revenue) will rise to 20 billion yen or so, an increase of about 7 than the current. Nikkei said, the OKI’s acquisition of OTC80% equity interest will cost of about $ 3 billion yen. |
