As the semiconductor industry recovers the control of excess channel inventory , on the other hand, manufacturers need to increase the inventory before the arrival of the holiday season, shipments of semiconductor silicon in the third quarter are expected to continue to grow.  According to HISiSuppli ,at the third quarter the overall silicon shipments is expected to reach 2.57 billion square inches, higher than the 2.51 billion in the second quarter, the first-quarter shipments is 2.29 billion square inches. It is expected the full year 2012, silicon shipments will reach 9.73 billion, a 6 percent increase over last year. In the second half ,the silicon suppliers must pay close attention to two important issues: global economic conditions, as well as integrated device manufacturers and fabless semiconductor inventory levels. From the short and long term, consumer-oriented electronic products continue to promote the growth of the silicon industry. The fastest growing area is wireless, including mobile phones and tablet PCs, wireless silicon demand currently accounts for 25 percent of the industry's overall demand. However, the storage element is still the biggest consumer of silicon. In particular, the silicon supplier for storage areas hopes a good price this year - not only because of consumer demand for super-this is expected to be enhanced, but also because the media tablet consumption of NAND flash memory increases. Even so, the bankruptcy of Japan's Elpida memory destination is still uncertain, casting a shadow on the overall future prospects for silicon manufacturing. This is because the storage capacity to reduce is undoubtedly beneficial which streamlines the market, but the decrease in demand can lead to silicon suppliers operating income decreased.
