The market research firm ,IC Insights released a report Monday, the global chip market in the period 2011-2016, compound annual growth rate (CAGR) will be up to 8%, including NAND flash memory chip market growth rate will reach 16.6%. IC Insights said that during 2011-2016 average annual growth rate of the NAND flash memory chip market is still strong, the fastest growing in all chip products will reach 16.6 percent, slightly higher than the 16.0 percent growth rate in the period 2006-2011 .DRAM memory chip market is expected to show a healthy upward trend ,to 2016 compound annual growth rate of 9.6 percent, reversing the downward trend of the average growth rate of the previous five-year cycle. IC Insights said enhanced sales of NAND flash memory chips and DRAM memory chips will help the semiconductor IC market growth in the period 2011-2016 more than doubled compared to a five-year period .IC Insights said, key markets such as microprocessors and analog chips will show a slight growth over the next five years. Including optoelectronics, sensors, standalone devices, market growth is expected to be beyond the IC market to reach 10.6 percent in average annual growth rate, the latter is 7.4%.From 2011 to 2016, tablet computers, smartphones and other portable wireless devices will allow the semiconductor market to maintain stable growth, but enhanced average selling price will be the main driving force for improving market conditions.
