The competition of Chip manufacturing industry continues to heat up, to create a faster, and the pursuit of more power-saving chip is becoming increasingly severe. Some analysts believe that the contract chip maker, GlobalFoundries develop as this kind of momentum, and in 2014 the company's production technology can compete against Intel's chip production level. With the continuous development of chip technology, and widely used in the actual product, the smart phone, tablet, and laptop computers are getting faster, the life time is getting longer and longer. GlobalFoundries produces x86 architecture and the ARM architecture smartphone, tablet and PC. It is expected in 2014 they will produce a processor, the processor will make the GlobalFoundries to catch up the level of Intel .Intel is the world's largest, also the most cutting-edge chip manufacturer. Intel is the first to use the 22-nanometer processor, 3D transistor structure. 3D transistor structure of the processor is more power than early 2D transistor structure,while GlocalFoundries generate their upcoming 14-nanometer processor, and thus be able to catch up with the pace of Intel in 2014. However, the company did not disclose to consumers when they will be able to purchase the product. GlobalFoundries also expect to achieve 20 nanometer processor and 2D transistor structure in 2013. To 2014 3D transistor will increase 40% -60% of the battery life lit than 2D transistor structure which is based on 20-nanometer processor. 14-nanometer processor is tentatively scheduled to be officially put into operation in 2015.Analysts said Intel currently is leading industry about 1-2 years, but GlobalFoundries is accelerating their production process, and thus be able to catch up with Intel. If GlobalFounries succeeds, then the company will restore lags behind Intel's ARM-based chip maker unfavorable situation. In fact, Intel produces their own chips, ARM License encourage third-party manufacturers to produce chips they authorized design companies such as Qualcomm, Nvidia, and then handed over to GlobalFoundries these companies produced.The analysis showed that, GlobalFountries has gone beyond the UMC to become the world's second-largest contract manufacturer, sales are after TSMC.
