Last year, Guangdong's LED lighting industry output value is over 200 billion yuan, an increase of 32% over the previous year; product quality rate is more than 30%, the output value and quality are enhanced.Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Standardization, Xiong Yong pointed out the mutual promotion is related with standard system planning and roadmap implementation of LED lighting industry,which solves the problem of emerging industry technical standards. LED lighting industry has become one major of the emerging strategic industries in Guangdong. Two years ago,there were over 2,600 of the province's LED lighting companies, employing was more than 100 people, the scale of the industry has been among the first in the country. However, due to the high-speed update technology of LED lighting products, on the one hand, product standards development cycle can not keep up with the pace of technological development, the formation of the lack of standards and hysteresis phenomena in restricting the rapid spread of technological innovations, also caused by the product quality and regulatory challenges; on the one hand, the development of standards revision process links from drafting to publishing long implementation cycles, some indicators even in the face of that outdated standards promulgated situation, so that the basis of the lack of scientific evaluation of the quality of LED products, disorderly market competition, product quality varies greatly, seriously hampered the healthy development of the LED industry.
