Bloomberg News reported that a preliminary statistics released by the Association of Japanese semiconductor manufacturing equipment (SemiconductorEquipmentAssociationofJapan; SEAJ), Japanese semiconductor equipment industry book-to-bill ratio (BB value) in January 2013, from 1.23 in December 2012, sliding to 1.18.This data shows that the month orders amounted to 74.316 billion yen, an increase of 2.8% compared to 72.277 billion yen in the previous month, the third consecutive month rose; month shipment value was 62.978 billion yen, compared with the preceding month 58,953,000,000 the yen increased by 6.8%. Compared with the same period in 2012, the amount of orders fell 25.2% in January 2013, the shipment value has contraction about 32.5%. BB value of 1.18, which means that per 100 yen of sales of products in a given month, that has received new orders worth 118 yen; the BB value higher than the 1 shows the semiconductor equipment market conditions has shown signs of expansion, lower than a weak demand. |
